Older Tesla Model S and X cars finally get FSD v14 Lite
Not a Tesla App reports that Intel-powered HW3 Model S and Model X are getting FSD v14.3 Lite, minus a few features Model 3 owners have.

Owners of older Tesla Model S and Model X cars are getting a newer version of Full Self-Driving. Not a Tesla App's Nehal Malik reported on October 14, 2026, that FSD (Supervised) v14.3 Lite is rolling out to Intel-powered cars with Tesla's HW3 computer, in software update 2026.38.5.1.
Not a Tesla App says this is the first time these cars have received the Lite version. Tesla announced the rollout on X, the outlet reports. "Supervised" means the driver still has to pay attention and be ready to take over.
What Lite means
HW3 is Tesla's older car computer, with less memory than the newer HW4. Not a Tesla App says v14 Lite is a slimmed-down copy of the main FSD v14 made to fit on it. Tesla's release notes, as quoted by the outlet, say it "Distilled the intelligence from HW4 V14 into HW3."
The outlet says the release notes list better handling of merges, pedestrians, traffic lights and cars cutting in, plus fewer false slowdowns and smoother steering. Those are Tesla's claims.
What these cars get, and what they miss
Not a Tesla App says the older Model S and X get Speed Profiles and an FSD streak counter that tracks how far you drive without stepping in. A Model X owner, Leonard Campagna, shared what he found after installing it, the outlet reports.
According to Not a Tesla App, these cars miss some features that Intel HW3 Model 3 and Model Y cars got with the same version: Arrival Options, starting FSD from Park, and reversing on FSD. Actually Smart Summon is not included either.
The last big update for HW3
Not a Tesla App says v14 Lite is meant to be the final major FSD branch for HW3. The outlet reports Tesla has said HW3 will not get unsupervised FSD or FSD v15. It also reports that Tesla has promised hardware upgrades for owners who bought FSD. No upgrade date is given.
