Grok Bot can now live on your iPhone's Action Button, and a Pumpkin Bot is coming

The Grok Bot team says one press of the button starts a conversation. X design head Benji Taylor teased a limited-time Pumpkin Bot.

A smiling woman in a black blazer holds a smartphone flat near her mouth and talks into it in an office.

Grok Bot got a little closer to your thumb. On October 19, 2026, the Grok Bot account on X posted that you can set the bot as your iPhone's Action Button and "press it to talk with Bot."

The Action Button is the side button on recent iPhones that you can map to a shortcut or app. Grok Bot is the AI assistant from SpaceXSI, the company that started out as xAI.

What the video shows

The post includes a short video. It shows a press of the side button, then a live call bar at the top of the screen with a timer, a mute button and a red button to hang up. The video ends on the line "Grok Bot now lives one step closer."

The post does not give setup steps, say which iPhone models work, or say whether there is anything like it on Android. We have left out setup tips that only came from fans.

Pumpkin Bot

Earlier the same day, Benji Taylor, head of design at X and SpaceXSI, posted "Pumpkin Bot is coming (for a limited time)." His six-second clip shows the bot's round, two-eyed mascot as an orange jack-o'-lantern blinking and looking around.

That is all Taylor said. He did not say what Pumpkin Bot does, whether it is just a new look, when it arrives or how long it lasts. Halloween is October 31, but no end date was given.

Goaeon covered Grok Bot's speed update and its new plan with Cursor in a separate story, and wrote up a user-built Grok Bot that books restaurant tables.
