Google's Universal Cart keeps your shopping from different stores in one place

Google says the cart works across Search and the Gemini app in the U.S., watches for price drops and suggests which card to pay with.

Hands in a red sweater hold a smartphone next to a tiny shopping cart full of wrapped gifts and holiday lights.

On October 15, 2026, Google launched Universal Cart in the U.S. Suresh Ganapathy, who leads consumer shopping products at Google, announced it. Google first showed the cart earlier this year. It is now rolling out in Google Search and the Gemini app.

One cart, many stores

The idea is simple. Instead of a pile of browser tabs and screenshots, you save things from different shops into one cart on Google. Google's example: save a handbag from Steve Madden in Search's AI Mode, then a sweater from Quince and lip gloss from Ulta Beauty in the Gemini app. Google says all three will be waiting when you come back.

It watches prices for you

Google says the cart runs on its Shopping Graph, which it describes as more than 60 billion product listings that are constantly refreshed. Google says the cart can send you a notification when something in it drops in price or comes back in stock.

Help picking a card and a code

Google says the cart is built on Google Wallet, so it knows the perks on your saved cards and can suggest which one to use. Google says it also shows promo codes right in the cart.

Checking out

Google says you can pay with Google Pay inside the cart at many stores, or send your items to the store's own cart and finish there. It names Nike, Sephora, Target, Ulta Beauty, Walmart, Wayfair and many Shopify stores. Either way, Google says the store stays the seller, and confirmations and customer support come from the store.

What you can try

If you are in the U.S., save a product while shopping in Search or the Gemini app, then add something from another store. Turn on alerts if you want to hear about price drops before the holidays.
