The new Apple TV 4K brings a chattier Siri AI to your living room
Apple says you can ask Siri AI what to watch and ask questions about a show while it plays, hands-free. It goes on sale November 13.

Apple announced a new Apple TV 4K on October 13, 2026. The big draw is Siri AI, which Apple calls an entirely new version of Siri built on the next generation of Apple Intelligence.
Ask Siri what to watch, and about what you are watching
Apple says Siri AI on the TV is full-screen and conversational. You can ask which Apple TV shows won Emmys this year and get poster art and suggestions back. While a show plays, Apple says you can ask questions like where it was filmed or whether it is okay for a 15-year-old. The answers appear in a small overlay so you keep watching.
With an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, Apple says Siri AI can use your personal context. Its example: "Play the show Alinda recommended."
No remote needed
Apple says the box has three far-field microphones, so you can talk to Siri from across the room, even with the sound on.
The rest of the box
Apple says the new A19 chip is up to 50 percent faster on the CPU and up to twice as fast on graphics compared with the last model. Those are Apple's numbers. The Siri Remote now works with Find My, so you can make it play a sound when it slips into the couch. Apple also says four HomePod mini 2 or HomePod speakers can now work together as surround sound.
Price and the fine print
Apple lists the new Apple TV 4K at $299 in the U.S. Pre-orders opened October 13, with stores getting it November 13.
Apple says Siri AI is a beta. At launch it works in English in the U.S., Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the UK. Apple also says Siri AI works on older Apple TV 4K models from the second generation on, as long as the home owner has a supported iPhone or iPad.
What you can try
If you already have a recent Apple TV 4K and a supported iPhone, Apple says you can try the Siri AI beta without buying the new box. Ask it for a comedy that won an award, then ask a question about the show while it plays.
