YouTube now lets you build your own Home feeds by describing them

Tap + on the YouTube Home feed, say what you want to watch in your own words, and YouTube builds a feed for it. It is rolling out in English in the US first.

YouTube announced custom feeds on October 22, 2026. The news came in a post from TeamYouTube on YouTube's official Community forum. You describe what you want to watch, and YouTube builds a feed around it.

How custom feeds work

Tap the + at the top of your Home feed. Then describe a topic, some channels or a mood in your own words. YouTube's example is "help me unwind after work with guided meditations under 10 minutes."

Your custom feeds are saved at the top of the screen, so you can jump back in later. To change one, tap the prompt box at the top of that feed and edit the text.

YouTube says free users can save up to 3 custom feeds. YouTube Premium members can save up to 8. Feeds you make on your phone also show up on desktop if you're signed in to the same Google Account.

Who gets it first

YouTube says custom feeds are rolling out on mobile and desktop. For now, they are only in English, for signed-in viewers in the US who are 13 or older and have search history turned on. YouTube says it is working on bringing the feature to more people and regions.

A new top bar on the mobile app

YouTube is also redesigning the top of the Home tab in its mobile app. New standard feeds include Live, Music, and Movies & TV. YouTube says the Movies & TV feed only appears if you pay for content, such as a Primetime Channel subscription.

Your Subscriptions feed is getting a new name, Subs. It is moving into that top bar on the Home tab.
