Rivian starts inviting owners to test hands-free Point to Point driving
Rivian says invitations to its Autonomy Early Access Program began October 15, starting in California and Florida. A wider release is planned for 2027.

Rivian has opened an invitation-only program that lets some owners try new driver-assistance features before everyone else. Rivian's support page says invitations started going out on a rolling basis on October 15, 2026. The first feature is Point to Point, which Rivian describes as hands-free driving.
Who can get in
Rivian says the program is for U.S. owners of second-generation R1 and R2 vehicles with a paid Autonomy+ subscription. Free trials don't count. First-generation vehicles and owners in Canada are excluded.
Rivian says it will pick owners who use its driver-assistance features a lot and have a clean recent safety record. It lists forward collision warnings and actual collisions among the things it checks. Rivian says it re-checks every 30 days and can remove people at any time.
Rivian is starting with owners in California and Florida. Once you are in, Rivian says the features work on supported roads anywhere in the U.S.
What testers agree to
This is not a free perk. Rivian says testers must use the features weekly, report problems, answer monthly surveys and keep everything confidential under a non-disclosure agreement. Testers must turn on data sharing, including camera data. Rivian says participants are not paid.
When everyone else gets it
Rivian says Point to Point will reach the early access group in late 2026, then expand to second-generation R1 and R2 vehicles on Autonomy+ in 2027. That wider release is a plan.
What you can try
If you own an eligible Rivian, sign in to your Rivian.com account. Rivian says eligible owners will see an Autonomy Early Access tile there, but only on the primary owner's account. Owners in other states can still sign up to show interest.
