Hoppy is a dating app that promises "Not bots. Not AI."

Its Google Play listing says every match is verified and a real person checks in around your date. Here is what the listing claims.

A couple in sweaters lean across a small candlelit table and hold hands, with string lights in the window behind them.

Most tech news right now is about adding AI. Hoppy, a dating app, is selling the opposite. Its Google Play listing, last updated October 6, 2026, says you only match with "real, pre-screened people. Not bots. Not AI." The listing's tagline is "AI can't automate love."

Everything here comes from that store listing, which Hoppy App Limited wrote. We have not tested the app.

What the listing promises

Hoppy says verification is built in, so every match is a screened, real person. The listing says your profile is fully customizable, with text, videos and memes, plus your favorite music, movies, shows and books. Hoppy pitches this as showing your whole self instead of "two photos and a blurb."

The listing also mentions exclusive live events, so you can meet people offline.

A human on call

Hoppy describes a "take this offline" feature. The listing says the app checks in before and after a date, and if you opt in, "an actual human steps in if something goes wrong. Not a bot. A person."

What the listing does not say

The listing does not explain how verification works, which cities have events, or what the app costs. On Google Play, Hoppy is rated 17+ and had a 3.1-star average from about 1,600 reviews when we checked.
