A user built a Grok Bot that phones restaurants and books your table
Brian Roemmele says his shareable bot makes the call in a Grok voice. It runs on a third-party calling service, ClawCall, and is not a built-in xAI feature.

On October 18, 2026, Brian Roemmele posted on X about a Grok Bot he built for one job: calling a restaurant and booking a table. Elon Musk shared the post the same day, writing that Grok Bot "can call restaurants by phone and book you a table."
To be clear about what this is: Roemmele built it himself. It is a user-made bot that he has shared, not a feature xAI added to Grok Bot. It makes calls through a separate calling service called ClawCall. Everything below is Roemmele's own description. We have not tested it.
How Roemmele says it works
Roemmele says he asked it to book a table for four that night at an Italian restaurant in Temecula, California, around 7. He says the bot found the restaurant's number, asked how flexible he was on time, what name to book under and what callback number to give, then read everything back and waited for his OK before dialing.
After the call, he says, it explained what happened in plain English, quoted what the restaurant said, and offered to add the booking to his calendar.
The phone part
Grok Bot needs its own phone number to make calls, Roemmele says. He connected ClawCall and says its free tier gave him 30 calls or 30 minutes to start. He says he has no connection to that company. He pitches a built-in "Grok Phone" service as a proposal, addressed to Grok on X. It is his idea, not something xAI has announced.
Guardrails, by Roemmele's account
Roemmele says his bot never hands over credit card or deposit details, never leaves voicemails unless you ask, makes one call at a time, and never calls on its own. He says the same setup could book haircuts or tee times, or call around for quotes.
What you can try
Roemmele says the bot is free and shareable under the name "Call A Restaurant Reservation." To use it, you would need a Grok Bot and your own calling service account. Before it dials, read back the details it plans to give the restaurant.
