ChatGPT Voice gets more natural accents and new voices
OpenAI says GPT-Live-1.1 is rolling out in ChatGPT Voice, with new voices for six languages and a new English voice called Bubbie.

On October 15, 2026, OpenAI posted in its ChatGPT release notes that a new voice model is rolling out in ChatGPT Voice. It is called GPT-Live-1.1. A smaller version, GPT-Live-1.1 Quip, is coming with it.
What changes when you talk to it
OpenAI says the new model has more natural accents across languages. It also says Live now uses a wider range of short phrases to tell you when it is searching, so you hear it working instead of sitting in silence.
New voices
OpenAI lists new Live voices for French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Mexican Spanish. There is also a new English voice called Bubbie. OpenAI says the voices you see may vary by region and account.
The release note is short. It does not say which plans get the update first, or how GPT-Live-1.1 Quip differs beyond being a mini version.
What you can try
In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Voice, then Voice, and pick one of the new options. If you speak one of the six languages, try a conversation in it and listen to the accent.
